Privacy Policy

How Williamson Consulting Services handles information when you use willcos.us.

Overview

Williamson Consulting Services ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit https://willcos.us, contact us, or interact with our online services.

This site is an informational marketing website for our consulting business. We collect limited information needed to operate the site, respond to inquiries, measure how our marketing campaigns perform (when you allow Analytics or Marketing technologies), and improve our services.

The analytics and marketing practices described here are drafted for legal review and may be updated after counsel review.

Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Information you voluntarily provide when you contact us (for example, by phone, email, LinkedIn, or GitHub), such as your name, company, email address, phone number, and message content.
  • Technical information automatically collected by our hosting provider when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and pages viewed. This is standard server and security logging.
  • Analytics information when you accept Analytics cookies or similar technologies: page views, approximate geography, device/browser type, referring source, and campaign parameters (such as UTM tags on links from conferences, business cards, blog posts, social posts, or QR codes). Tools may include Umami (privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics), Vercel Analytics, and Google Analytics 4.
  • Marketing measurement information when you accept Marketing cookies or similar technologies: page views and related events used to understand and improve ads and outreach on Meta and LinkedIn (Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag).
  • Information related to invoice payments only if you use our online payment features when they are enabled, including billing details processed by our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).
  • Your privacy choices (for example, Analytics or Marketing accepted or rejected), stored in your browser so we can honor them.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, provide consulting services, operate and secure the website, process payments when enabled, comply with law, and improve our business operations.

We also use Analytics and Marketing technologies, when you consent, to understand how our marketing activities and campaigns are working — for example, which conferences, business cards, blog posts, social posts, QR codes, or paid/social ads lead people to the site — so we can improve outreach and content. We do not sell your personal information as a product.

Cookies and similar technologies

We group cookies and similar technologies into three categories:

  • Essential — required for security, delivery of the site, and remembering your privacy choices. These run without a separate opt-in.
  • Analytics — Umami (cookie-free, privacy-focused analytics), Vercel Analytics, and Google Analytics 4, used for traffic and campaign attribution (including UTM parameters). Loaded only when the Analytics feature is enabled and you accept Analytics (or Accept all). Umami does not use cookies or collect personal data.
  • Marketing — Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag, used to measure and improve ads and social campaigns. Loaded only when the Marketing feature is enabled and you accept Marketing (or Accept all).

Your choices

On your first visit (and when our consent settings change), we show a privacy notice. While client-side performance analytics and marketing measurement are not enabled, the notice explains Essential storage only and asks you to acknowledge it (Got it) — there is no opt-out of Essential tools. When Analytics and/or Marketing features are enabled, the banner asks for your permission: Accept all turns enabled optional categories on; Reject all leaves them off; Customize lets you choose each available category (toggles start off). Accept and Reject are offered with equal ease. You can change optional choices anytime via Your Privacy Choices in the footer when those features are enabled.

California residents can use Your Privacy Choices (or Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information) in the footer to opt out of Marketing technologies that we treat as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a Marketing opt-out where detected.

Third-party fonts loaded from Google may involve your browser contacting Google servers; see Google's privacy policy for how they handle that traffic.

How we share information

We share information with service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting and analytics (Vercel), privacy-focused web analytics (Umami, when Analytics is accepted — Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across sites), web analytics (Google Analytics, when Analytics is accepted), advertising measurement (Meta and LinkedIn, when Marketing is accepted), payment processing when enabled (Stripe), and professional advisors when necessary.

When Marketing technologies run, personal information may be shared with Meta and/or LinkedIn for cross-context behavioral advertising and campaign measurement. You can opt out as described under Your choices. We require service providers to use information only to perform services for us, except where their own policies apply to data they receive as independent controllers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or others.

Data retention and security

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law. Hosting logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s practices. Analytics and advertising platforms retain data according to their product settings and policies. Consent preferences in your browser expire after at most twelve months or when we bump our consent revision. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, but no website or transmission is completely secure.

Your rights

You may contact us to ask questions about this policy or request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to applicable law. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information where applicable. To exercise rights or ask questions, call +1 760-973-4160 or contact us via LinkedIn.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have rights under applicable data protection law, including access, correction, deletion, and restriction, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Marketing and Analytics cookies for EU visitors require your prior consent as described above.

Children's privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy. Material changes to cookies or measurement tools may also prompt a new consent request.
